The current Snyderville Basin General Plan was written and adopted in 2015. Our Summit Community Vision and Strategic Plan did not reveal a significant change to the community's aspirations for the Snyderville Basin as compared to the vision described in the 2015 plan.
It is anticipated that much of the big-picture themes and goals will remain the same. However, there will be specificity added to policies and strategies to make the plan more actionable.
Following the adoption of the updated General Plan, neighborhood-level plans, similar to the existing Kimball Junction Neighborhood Plan, will be created for the remaining neighborhoods in the Basin. Neighborhood level plans typically contain a more specific vision for a neighborhood or community. Neighborhood plans can identify specific projects that can help advance the County's vision.
Additionally, the organization of the plan will be updated to accommodate new State requirements including the addition of a Water Use Element.
The Snyderville Basin and Eastern Summit County General Plans will mimic each other in regard to formatting and structure as to more clearly identify how both sides of the County can work together to achieve the broader vision for Summit County.
