Captain Ken Jones started his career in public service as an enlisted member of the United States Army in 1991. After eight years of service in the Army, including a combat tour in the Bosnia Herzegovina Theater, Jones separated from the Armed Forces with an honorable discharge and started his career in law enforcement. After a brief stint at the Utah State Prison, Jones started with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in the Corrections Division. During his tenure with Summit County, Jones has been a Corrections Deputy, Patrol Deputy, Courts Service Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Corrections Sergeant, Administrative Sergeant, SWAT team member, Honor Guard member, Jail Commander and the Patrol Division Lieutenant.

Justin Hemingway is currently assigned as the Lieutenant of Criminal Investigations. Justin has served his entire law enforcement career with the Summit County Sheriff's Office, which began in 2002. Justin has served as a corrections deputy, court services deputy, patrol deputy, school resource officer, patrol sergeant, detective and school resource sergeant, patrol division lieutenant and criminal investigations lieutenant. Justin has also trained and participated in the following groups/assignments: Special enforcement unit, SWAT, major accident investigations, EMS - EMT A, phlebotomist, death investigator, motors team, drone team, and digital forensics.

Chad Hoffmeyer is currently assigned as the Lieutenant of the Communications Division. Chad grew up on the West side of Summit County and started his career with the Summit County Sheriff's Office in 2004 starting in Communications as a Dispatcher. He then became a Deputy starting in the Corrections Division then moving to the Patrol Division. Over the years Chad has also served in the Traffic Enforcement Unit, SWAT Team, OHV Team, Motors, Bike Patrol, School Resource Officer, Criminal Investigations, Digital Forensics, Patrol Sergeant, Administrative Sergeant and Detective Sergeant. Chad started the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) program at the Summit County Sheriff's Office in 2015 and supervises that unit today.

SEARCH & RESCUE – LIEUTENANT ALAN SIDDOWAY

Alan Siddoway – Extension 3518 – Email
Lieutenant Alan Siddoway is currently assigned as the Court Services’ Division Commander at the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. He serves as the sheriff’s liaison to the Summit County Search and Rescue. In that capacity, he has responded to numerous search and rescue missions with the volunteer team members, who he considers among the most proficient in their field. Alan began his career with Summit County as a correctional deputy in 1985, became a patrol deputy and later functioned as a K-9 Handler. Alan was promoted to patrol sergeant in 1999 and functioned in that capacity until being assigned to the Special Operations Bureau in January 2003. In January 2004, Alan was promoted to captain and assigned as the Bureau Chief of Special Operations. In March of 2008, Alan left the Summit County Sheriff’s Office to accept the position of Chief Investigator at the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office but later returned to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Lt. Berger joined the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in 2008, after serving as a F-16 Crew Chief and Staff Sergeant with the United States Air Force. Lt. Berger holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration and has held many roles in the Sheriff’s Office including K9 Handler and Supervisor, Patrol Sergeant, SRO Sergeant, DT Instructor and Supervisor, Honor Guard Commander, SWAT, and Negotiations team lead. Lt. Berger is also a lead instructor at the Weber State University Police Academy.

Lt. Davis is a 18 year veteran of law enforcement. He began his career in the Salt Lake area in 2006. In those 18 years he has held numerous assignments including patrol, field training officer, narcotics, criminal investigations, and SWAT. He is currently the Lt. over the School Resource Division.
