In addition to his role on the County Council, Canice is the Operations Manager for Summit County Search and Rescue, where he leads emergency response efforts and coordinates with multiple agencies to ensure the safety of residents and visitors across the county. His commitment to public safety is reflected in his hands-on leadership and deep involvement in community preparedness.
Before entering public service, Canice built a successful career in the outdoor industry, holding leadership roles at The North Face, Patagonia, and Salomon. He’s taken a company from concept to acquisition, gaining valuable experience in business development, brand building, and strategic growth.
Canice is passionate about preserving the character and natural beauty of Summit County while fostering policies that support sustainable development, outdoor recreation, and a high quality of life for all residents. He believes in transparent governance, collaboration, and community-driven decision-making.
Canice lives in Summit County with his wife, Katy, two daughters, and is proud to call this remarkable community home.
