For five generations Tonja’s family has called Summit County home. She was born and raised in Coalville where her family has owned and operated a cattle ranch in the south fork of the Chalk Creek. After attending college at Utah State University, with a focus on Communications, Tonja moved to Park City where she has worked in the sales and marketing sector of the hospitality and resort industry. Most of her employment history has been at Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort as Director of Sales, and most recently at Snowbasin and Sun Valley Resorts as Executive Director of Resort Sales.
Tonja has always been very active and involved in the community where she lives and works. She served three terms on the Eastern Summit County Planning Commission, two years as the chair. In addition, she served one and a half terms on the Coalville City Planning Commission, two years as chair, and on the Summit Land Conservancy Board and Executive Board. Tonja served as Vice Chair of the Summit County Open Space Advisory Board, and three terms on the Summit County Restaurant Tax Advisory Board, two years as chair. Finally, she served on the Board and Executive Board of the Park City/Summit County Chamber.
Tonja, along with her husband and daughter, have had the opportunity to live in various areas throughout the county including Park City, Kamas, Oakley, and, ultimately, returning to her hometown of Coalville where they reside on Chalk Creek Road.
