Summit County is seeking to fill two (2) vacancies on the Summit County Open Space Advisory Committee (OSAC). The purpose of OSAC is to provide recommendations to the County Manager regarding the identification, evaluation (including the evaluation of NOIs), and possible acquisition of Property Interests such as passive and active open space and conservation easements.
The recommendations are guided by the approved Evaluation Standards established by each of the three Regional Advisory Groups with respect to the use of the 2022 Summit County Open Space General Obligation Bond passed by voters in the November 2021 election, and any subsequent countywide open space bonds.
Meetings are currently scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30 PM at a rotating location throughout the County, and are subject to change. Terms will be three (3) years for each OSAC member.
Summit County is specifically seeking one (1) members from each Region:
- North Summit Region
- One (1) at-large community representatives who resides in North Summit.
- South Summit Region;
- One (1) at-large community representative who resides in South Summit.
Community representatives wishing to fill an at-large position may be given preference for having knowledge and experience related to agriculture, natural resources, or recreation.
