When is the 2024 General Election?


The 2024 General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. 


When is the Logic and Accuracy Test for the 2024 General Election? 


The Logic and Accuracy Test took place on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 2 p.m., at the Clerk’s Office in the Summit County Courthouse (60 N. Main Street, Coalville, UT). This test is open to public observation. Read a recap on the test by KPCW, here


The Logic and Accuracy Test ensures that the election and voting equipment function as expected and accurately count votes as marked. 


What if I’m not registered to vote yet but want to vote in the 2024 General Election? 


The deadline to register and receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the General Election was October 25, 2024. Voters who are not registered by October 25, 2024, but are otherwise eligible to vote, may vote provisionally in person during early voting and on Election Day. 


The easiest way to register if you have an up-to-date Utah driver’s license is to go to voter.utah.gov. If you do not have a Utah driver’s license complete this FORM

When will I receive my ballot? 


The Summit County Clerk’s Office began mailing ballots on Tuesday, October 15. Voters should receive them later that week. If you do not receive your ballot in the mail, please contact the Clerk’s Office at elections@summitcountyutah.gov or by calling 435-336-3040. 


Where can I see a sample ballot for my voting precinct in the meantime? 


Sample ballots for each voting precinct are available for voters to preview HERE. Scroll down to the section titled “Sample Ballots”, click the drop-down arrow titled “2024 General Election”, and find your voting precinct. 


How do I know what precinct I live in?


Summit County has a great online Interactive Map that helps our community identify their voting district -- all they have to do is type in their address! See Precinct Maps, HERE.


When is early voting for the General Election? 


Early in-person voting for the General Elections will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2024 through Saturday, November 2, 2024, and on Monday, November 4, 2024. Locations and hours can be found, HERE


Is Vote Early Day happening for the 2024 General Election?


Yes! Vote Early Day took place on October 25, 2024 from 8 AM - 1 PM! Clerk’s Office staff was stationed at Drop Box locations around the County helping voters to…


Register to vote. Vote Early Day is the last day you can register to vote by mail for the general election. We’ll have registration forms available, or you can register on your phone. Clerk’s Office Staff can help you register right on the spot!


Plan your vote. Information on how, where, and when you can vote can be overwhelming, causing confusion and preventing voters from casting their ballots. Clerk’s Office Staff is here to make voting easier. Stop by one of our locations, and we’ll answer any questions you might have and help you make a voting plan that works best for you!


Vote Early. When Americans vote early, they ensure that last-minute problems will not prevent them from casting their ballots and help shorten voting lines on Election Day for everyone. Ballots were mailed to Summit County voters on October 15. Already have yours filled out? Drop your ballot in one of the Drop Box Locations we will be stationed at, and we’ll celebrate with you (with ‘I Voted’ stickers and snacks)!

Can I vote by mail for the General Election? 


Yes. Ballots must be postmarked by November 4, 2024. If you were wondering where to send your completed ballot, don't stress! All ballots are mailed out with a preprinted return envelope that voters must sign, so no need to worry about a return address.

How do I track my ballot? 


You can sign up to receive notifications on the status of your ballot at BallotTrax. You can also track the status of your mail ballot by visiting this page.


Will dropboxes be open for the General Election? 


Yes. You can also drop completed ballots for the General Elections at the following locations until 8:00 p.m. on General Election Day (November 5, 2024). Dropbox locations and hours can be found, HERE


Where is Election Day Voting for the General Election?


General Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Voters will be able to get assistance voting and vote in person from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Election Day Voting Centers can be found, HERE


What if I need assistance with voting? 


If you or a loved one are temporarily or permanently disabled and need an accommodation to vote, please call 435-336-3040.


When will the canvass happen for the General Election? 


The canvass for the General Election will take place on November 19, 2024, at the Summit County Courthouse, 60 North Main St., Coalville at 4:00 PM. 


The canvass is when the governing body of the entity having an election receives the election results, examines them, and decides whether to approve them as final or request more information, clarification, or documentation. Once approved, the results of the election for that entity are final.
