[ARCHIVED] Climate Change and Public Health Speaker Series

Speaker Series - Community Calendar Thumbnail_

The 2023 Summit County Climate Change and Public Health Speaker Series is designed to elevate public health as a critical consideration of climate change action in our community. The second session of the speaker series will highlight how local risks to the natural environment influence the public's physical and mental health. Attend the Sept. 19th session at the National Ability Center to:

  • Join us to elevate public health as a critical component of the climate change action conversation in Summit County.Identify how climate change is and will continue to impact physical and mental health in the US and in our region
  • Understand how current conditions and health disparities impact vulnerability to climate change
  • Identify resources for coping with climate grief

Speakers:

Jeremy Bekker | PhD candidate, Clinical Psychology, Brigham Young University

Kimberley Shoaf | Professor, Division of Public Health, University of Utah Health

Nataunya Kay | Creative Arts Psychiatric Program Specialist/Green Team Lead, Huntsman Mental Health Institute
